Mechanic
Contract Position available until 30 June 2026

Wudinna District Council are seeking an experienced trade qualified Mechanic to join our team.

The Mechanic role is responsible for managing and coordinating the allocation and deployment of resources to deliver safe, cost effective and timely maintenance and service programs on Council’s fleet of plant and equipment.

Duties of the role include:

  • Inspection, service and repair of heavy plant and equipment, trucks and light vehicles.
  • Maintaining materials, tools, equipment and workshop area.
  • Working safely and effectively to achieve activities in line with planned fleet maintenance schedules.
  • Completing and maintaining accurate service and repair records.

To be successful in the role you will require an Australian recognised trade certificate as a Diesel Mechanic or equivalent, basic computer, numeracy and written skills and a HC Class Drivers Licence (or the ability and willingness to obtain this).

Salary & Conditions: The position is full-time, working 38 hours per week, over 4 days. Salary will be in accordance with Council’s Enterprise Bargaining Agreement and the Local Government Employees Award - Grade 7. An above award payment will be offered to attract the right person for this position. The potential for future contract extension is available for the right candidate.
