Environmental Health

For more information on any Environmental/Public Health issue, contact Council's Environmental Health Officer Denvir Moses on (08) 8680 2002. All complaints are handled in strict confidence accordingly.

Food

Regular inspections are conducted of all food outlets within the Council area. Food handler courses are held periodically with a view of ensuring that all food handlers are accommodated accordingly. All food complaints are handled in strict confidence.

Public Swimming Pools / Spas

Regular inspections are conducted to ensure that all pools/spas maintain the 'Standards for the Operation of Swimming Pools and Spa Pools in SA'. The Public & Environmental Health Act applies in instances where these standards are not maintained.

Creosote Posts

As per the Environment Protection Authority's guidelines, the storage of treated creosote posts is not permitted within town centre zones. Storage of posts outside the town centre zones should be in a manner that does not result in offensive emission of materials and/or odours. The provisions of the Public & Environmental Health Act apply to instances where these guidelines are not adhered to.
