Wudinna

Wudinna is the largest town in the Council area, comprising of approximately 600 people. Recent development of commercial enterprises in the town confirms the commitment of local businesses to provide great products and services.

Natural Attractions

Nearby attractions include Mount Wudinna (pictured right), Polda Rock, Corrobinnie Hill and Ucontitchie Hill.

A bike/walking trail has recently been constructed that runs from Wudinna to Polda Rock Recreation Reserve. The trail is approximately 7 kilometres long so don't forget your hat, sunscreen and water!

In town, the Gawler Ranges Cultural Centre is home to the Council's Gawler Ranges artwork, acquired through the annual Gawler Ranges Acquisitive Art Prize Exhibition.

Gawler Ranges National Park

The Gawler Ranges are an ideal destination for outdoor and photography enthusiasts.

Located approximately five and a half hours drive from Adelaide the National Park is only 40km north of Wudinna. Access to the Park is available through Wudinna, Minnipa and Kimba.

Most tracks within the Park are recommended for high clearance 4WD vehicles only. However, high ground 2WD vehicles may access some areas. Check road conditions before travelling in wet conditions.

Wudinna Health Centre
Council's Chairperson Tim Scholz was the main drive behind establishing Wudinna's own Health Centre in 2010. Medical specialists utilise the Wudinna Health Centre, thus improving health care accessibility for our community.

Accommodation
Accommodation is available at the Gawler Ranges Motel & Caravan Park on the Eyre Highway and Wudinna Hotel Motel.

Dine in  & Takeaways
Meals are available from the Gawler Ranges Motel, Wudinna Hotel Motel, Mobil Roadhouse, Caltex Roadhouse, Wudinna Community Club (Friday and Saturday nights), Alicia's Cafe  and the Wudinna Bakery.

Takeaway food is also available from  Mobil Roadhouse, Caltex Roadhouse and Wudinna Hotel Motel.

Banks
Bank SA - There is a branch of Bank SA in Burton Terrace.

Bendigo Bank - An agency of the Bendigo Bank is situated at the Wudinna Telecentre on the Eyre Highway.

The Post Office (also in Burton Terrace) are agents for many banks and credit unions including Adelaide Bank, Australian Central Credit Union, Citibank, CPS Credit Union, National Australia Bank, Police Credit Union, and Satisfac Credit Union.

A number of businesses around town have EFTPOS facilities and ATMs are located at Bank SA and the Wudinna Hotel Motel.

Toilets
Public toilets are available at the Wudinna Hall (on Ballantyne St), the Lions Information Bay at the western entrance to town and the Apex Park.

Internet/Email
Free internet access is available at the Wudinna School/Community Library on Medley Terrace. Access is also available at the Wudinna Telecentre for a small fee. The Telecentre also provide other secretarial services.

Fuel
Lead replacement, unleaded, diesel and LPG fuels are available in Wudinna at the Mobil Roadhouse, Caltex Roadhouse and from the garage on Burton Terrace.

Garages
Wudinna has several garages: Pringles Ag-Plus, Wudinna Central Garage, Ramsey Bros and Wudinna Auto Services.

Emergency Services
There is a manned police station in Wudinna.

CFS and Ambulance services are also based in Wudinna and run completely by local volunteers.

Wudinna has a resident doctor, hospital and aged-care facility.

Education
Wudinna Area School teaches  Reception to Year 12, Wudinna also has a kindergarten, family day care and also a TafeSA coordinator.

Recreation
To encourage exercise and outdoor activities, Wudinna's Apex Park has recently had outdoor exercise equipment installed. There's also a playground and jumping pillow for the kids.

You will also find a pool  and a bowls club nearby.
