Citizenship
It is the role of Local Government to organise Citizenship ceremonies for district residents who have been granted Australian Citizenship by the Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs. The purpose of the ceremony is to complete the legal requirement of making the Australian Citizenship Pledge and formally welcome the resident as an Australian Citizen.
