Minnipa
The main employer for Minnipa is PIRSA's Agricultural Centre (farming research facility) while our most popular tourist attraction is the wave rock formation, Pildappa Rock. You can pass all these icons on your way to the near-by beautiful Gawler Ranges.

AttractionsPILDAPPA ROCK Minnipa is home to the wind sculptured Pildappa rock (pictured right) only a 20 minutes drive from the township. Pildappa Rock would be the most popular of Minnipa's attractions with the highest and longest wave formations on the Eyre Peninsula. Able to be climbed, the rock offers unobstructed 360 degree views of local farmland, the Gawler Ranges and Blue Sturts. Pioneers constructed guttering systems around the base of the Granite outcrop to water their properties and livestock. The gutters still manage to capture rainfall to this day. Camping is allowed and there are BBQ and toilet facilities available. Pildappa Rock is accessible via well posted unsealed roads, only 20 minutes out of Minnipa. The centre, which is operated by Primary Industries and Regions South Australia, occupies 1200 ha. The Centre serves the cereal growing areas (which receives less then 350mm per year) of Eyre Peninsula, an area which produces on average 40-45% of South Australia's wheat.
